Meet our keynote speaker, Natalie W. Nixon, PhD.
In her consultancy, Figure 8 Thinking, LLC, she helps organizations design smarter processes and systems, build strategy, and develop leaders by teaching and applying the strategic design process. Natalie is the founding director of the Strategic Design MBA program at Philadelphia University and is a published author. She is also the editor of Strategic Design Thinking: Innovation in Products, Services, Experiences and Beyond and a regular contributor to INC.com online magazine on creativity and design thinking.
Topic: Inventiveness, Play, and The Future of Learning
The field of education has been wildly disrupted in the past 10 years, and the tsunami effect is only just beginning. Educators, administrators, and technologists must remain buoyant while also developing environments that help students thrive. To do this, we must think through possible scenarios around the future of work and how those narratives link back to our systems for learning. Natalie will explore connections between the future of work and the future of learning and leave us with alternative paradigms to ponder and hopefully begin applying.

The Blackbaud K–12 User Conference is the premier event for private schools. Hosted by Blackbaud, the conference brings together fundraisers, admissions directors, IT directors, heads of schools, educators, financial managers, marketing and communication experts, and many more to discuss current trends, best practices, and outcome-based solutions that connect your whole school. And you’ll have plenty of opportunities to have fun along the way networking with your peers, industry experts, and Blackbaud staff and partners to help you gain more knowledge and experience with Blackbaud technology.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED 60 DAYS FROM THE ORIGINAL TRANSACTION DATE. The final cutoff date for registration cancellations is on/prior to May 15, 2018. Cancellations submitted in writing on/prior to May 15, 2018, will be refunded a $75 (USD) processing fee as long as the original transaction date is within 60 days. BEGINNING MAY 16, 2018, NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. No refunds will be granted for no-shows. Please send any information regarding cancellation via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Replacement of a registered conference attendee by a business colleague/coworker will be accepted. One substitution per registration will be allowed at no charge if submitted by May 15, 2018. Beginning May 16, 2018, a $75 (USD) processing fee will apply to all substitutions before the event and on-site. Original registrant must submit a written request for substitution to email@example.com. A Blackbaud staff member will then contact the original registrant for more information on the substitute attendee. Payments for substitutions must be made before arriving on-site. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER 60 DAYS OF THE ORIGINAL TRANSACTION DATE.

Earning CPE Credits for Education
As part of our continuing commitment to provide high-quality continuing professional education, Blackbaud is a registered sponsor of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, a program offered by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). This registry recognizes that our continuing professional education for accountants meets nationally recognized standards.
Accountants are required by state governing boards to earn CPE credits to maintain and enhance their professional competence. As a registered sponsor, Blackbaud’s name and address
Blackbaud is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.
Which sessions are eligible for CPE credits?
All Blackbaud University Training Day sessions in the Financial Edge and Best Practices tracks are eligible for credits.
What are the prerequisites for participation?
There are no prerequisites to attend.
Is advanced preparation required?
No advanced preparation is required. Hands-on sessions require that you bring your personal laptop. Be sure to check the session descriptions for more information.
How is the number of CPE credits determined?
CPE credits are granted based on a 50-minute hour. Participants are eligible for one CPE credit for every 50 minutes of instruction attended.
- One-hour sessions are eligible for one CPE credit
- Two-hour sessions are eligible for two CPE credits
Is CPE credit automatically awarded?
No. CPE credit is not automatically awarded. Letters or certificates of completion are available upon successfully completing a class. You are responsible for submitting this information to the State Boards of Accountancy.

Re: Request to Attend the 2018 Blackbaud K–12 User Conference
I’m writing to ask for approval to attend the 2018 Blackbaud K–12 User Conference July 25–27 in Seattle. The conference is three full days of learning, including best practice sessions, hands-on training, and collaboration with more than 650 of my peers. I’ll have access to tons of breakout sessions with content designed exclusively for K–12 schools, and I’ll have the opportunity to hear from Travis Warren, president and general manager for Blackbaud’s K–12 Group, on his vision for the company’s future.
Registration costs are $1,025 (USD) for full conference access, but if we commit before March 30, we’ll save $130 (USD). The conference is a great, cost-effective way to ensure that we’re getting the most from our school software investment and should result in immediate ROI.
